Could a cheetah outrun a car on the freeway?

Cheetahs can sprint up to 75 miles per hour, making them just as fast as most cars on the freeway - with a caveat. While they accelerate faster than most sports cars, they cannot run for very long distances and would eventually lose to most cars on the road.
Cheetahs are regularly reported to be the fastest land animal known to man, but their strength is in their ability to run fast in short bursts rather than over long distances. These big cats tend to run for fewer than 60 seconds at a time.
