What countries are affected by acid rain?

China, Russia, and the United States are all heavily industrialized areas that suffer from acid rain. However, air pollution moves long distances by traveling on the wind. As a result, many cities and countries all over the world suffer from problems related to acid rain.

Acid rain contains high levels of sulfuric and nitric acids. It occurs in different forms of precipitation, such as snow, fog, rain and dry materials. Most acid rain is a direct result of pollutants released into the atmosphere from human activity.
