What countries border the Netherlands?

Germany and Belgium border the Netherlands. To the east, the Netherlands shares a 358-mile border with Germany, while the common border with Belgium to the south runs 279 miles.

Five of the Netherlands' 12 provinces – Drenthe, Gelderland, Groningen, Limburg and Overijssel – lie on the border with Germany. Limburg also borders Germany, as do the provinces North Brabant and Zeeland. The five provinces Flevoland, Friesland, North Holland, South Holland and Utrecht do not border a foreign country.
