Francisco Coronado represented the country of Spain when he was exploring. His adventures took him to the Americas, where he discovered the Grand Canyon.
Coronado's full name was Francisco Vazquez de Coronado and he lived from 1510 to 1554. He was from a noble family and born in Spain, but he wished to travel to the "New World" to begin a new life because he was not posed for an inheritance in his own family as the youngest son. He ran into many problems in the Americas with Indians but continued to explore and lived in a large estate in New Spain, which was located in what is now called Mexico. From there, he embarked on many other conquests.
