By Forinfos - 04/11/2025 - 0 comments
County jails do possess emergency phone lines, usually for the staff to make phone calls if a panic button is not nearby, although they do not receive 911 calls. County jails typically feature a staff that is capable of handling a variety of emergencies among the inmates.
Additionally, county jails accept calls from family of inmates if there is an outside emergency. This allows inmates to receive a message in the case of a death in the family or other serious emergency. In the event of a riot, county jails go into a lockdown mode, and surrounding law enforcement agencies assist where possible.
