Does every Cracker Barrel have a store?

Every Cracker Barrel restaurant has a gift shop that sells unique gift items that are related to American country heritage. The first Cracker Barrel opened in 1969 and sold gasoline to complement its restaurant and gift shop business.

The founder of Cracker Barrel, Dan Evins, wanted a place where people could get a home-cooked meal while traveling on the road. He wanted to create an atmosphere where people didn't feel rushed and could enjoy their meals and their families. Dan also wanted travelers to be able to pick up gifts and souvenirs that were actually worth giving. Cracker Barrel restaurants and gift shops are Dan's way of preserving American heritage.
