How do you create an outline for a healthy eating essay?

Like other types of essays, the outline for a healthy eating essay should include basic information relating the introduction, body paragraphs and conclusion. There are many valid structures for essay writing, but this guide concentrates on the popular, five paragraph essay model.
Decide on an outline format
Most word processors have a built-in outline structure, which you can select, or mimic, if you are writing by hand. Typically the introduction, three body paragraphs and conclusion are labeled with Roman numerals. Main points of the paragraphs are indented and labeled with capital letters, and details are indented one more time and numbered.
Create a thesis statement
The thesis is the most important part of an essay. It should state the main argument, as well as three supporting reasons (the main ideas of the body paragraphs). For a healthy eating essay, these may relate to the health benefits of nutrition, environmental sustainability and the detriments of junk food, etc.
Research supporting details
For a well-developed essay, arguments must be backed up by details. These details can come in the form of statistics, medical facts or personal anecdotes.
Keep the text concise but informative
An outline should have enough text to guide the writing process, but it doesn't need to have paragraphs itself, or even complete sentences (though that is up to the teacher's preference). A sentence or two per main idea and supporting detail is sufficient.
