Access to American credit information is not available to the Credit Bureau of Canada, according to The Huffington Post. An American needs to re-establish credit when moving abroad, because America does not share credit information with other countries.

Canadian credit agency names sound similar to those in the United States, notes The Huffington Post. Two common credit agencies in Canada are Equifax of Canada, Inc. and TransUnion Canada. Each agency reports similar information to what American agencies report, which includes loans, inquiries and public record data. These agencies provide credit reports to the Canadian consumers upon request without a fee for the copy.
