Is a credit check required for an AT&T GoPhone?

As of 2015, the purchase of an AT&T GoPhone device does not require a credit check nor does it bind the buyer to an annual contract with AT&T. The plan is connected to AT&T's 4G LTE network and allows customers to choose from a variety of phones and devices.

The GoPhone plan is prepaid and can be refilled through an AT&T account on the company's website. The account interface also allows users to change any existing plans, set up an auto payment schedule and add packages to existing ones. Customers can bring in a device of their choosing and set it up with a prepaid GoPhone package.
