There are some banks that do not require a credit check to open a checking account; however, they can be difficult to find. Chase Bank has a second-chance checking account known as access checking that may not require a credit check.
Other examples of second-chance checking accounts include the foundations checking program at PNC Bank and the opportunity checking program offered by Wells Fargo. Consumers also have the option to enroll in a prepaid debit card program such as the Liquid prepaid card offered by Chase Bank. These types of accounts give consumers a debit card with access to their funds at ATMs, but they are not considered a real checking account.
