Which crops are grown in Mexico?

Mexico grows a large variety of crops, the largest of which is white corn that is grown in individual homes for human consumption. The top four crops grown in Mexico after corn are sugarcane, grass, bell peppers and avocados, according to a report by Terra Nova Ventures.

Other major crops in Mexico include sorghum, tomatoes, alfalfa, potato, wheat and beans. Mexico also grows a wide variety of fruit including oranges, grapes, mangoes, lemons and limes. As of 2014, approximately 60 percent of all corn grows in the region of Central Mexico. At the national level, corn takes up nearly 60 percent of all of Mexico's farmland.
