Crown molding for kitchen cabinets consists of a traditionally styled molding strip permanently affixed to the top of a wooden kitchen cabinet. Crown molding may be purchased ready to install at hardware and home furnishing stores, often in the same colors as the cabinets.

Crown molding isn't attached directly to the cabinet but to a mounting strip that itself is glued into place on the cabinet's top frame.
