What is cultural blindness?
By Forinfos - 21/02/2026 - 0 comments
Cultural blindness is a situation where a person adopts a new culture without knowing if it is wrong or right. Cultural blindness treats all people as equal and ignores the differences that people may have.
Learning institutions have been one of the common victims of cultural blindness. The idea of treating all students equal fails to acknowledge the differences that they have. As a result, students become invisible and encounter conflicts in competencies. Teachers with the "I treat everyone the same" attitude have the incapacity to understand how specific situations and ideas may be viewed by people of different cultures. Consequently, many children may exhibit learning difficulties.
