What is cupro fabric?

Cupro fabric is a regenerated cellulose fiber made from cotton linter dissolved in an ammonia and copper oxide solution. Cotton linter consists of the fibers that stick to the cotton plant seeds after the plant has been ginned. Cupro fabric breathes like cotton and is similar to rayon.

Cupro fabric is frequently used as a substitute for silk, but unlike silk, it can be machine-washed. It is a hypoallergenic fabric that resists becoming misshapen at higher temperatures. Cupro fabric is used by top designers, such as Donna Karan, to create garments for all occasions without the hassle of requiring more care.
