Is there a cure for epilepsy?

As of 2014, there is no cure for epilepsy, states WebMD. However, medications for both monotherapy and polytherapy usually help to stop or control the seizures. For epilepsy that does not respond to medication, options include surgery, vagus nerve stimulation and using a responsive neurostimulation device.

During seizures, sufferers may experience strange sensations and emotions, may behave differently, and may have convulsions and abnormal movements.
