Who are the current king and queen of Spain?

As of 2015, the current king and queen of Spain are King Felipe IV and Queen Letizia. King Felipe IV was crowned on June 19, 2014 after his father, King Juan Carlos, abdicated following a 39-year reign.

King Felipe IV and Queen Letizia have been married since 2004. Letizia was previously a commoner. The couple has two daughters. The eldest is Leonor, Princess of Asturias. She is the first in line for the throne. The younger daughter is Princess Sofia.

Since the previous king and queen are still alive, they have been allowed to keep their titles. They are still known as King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia. King Juan Carlos was also allowed to keep the privilege of immunity from prosecution.
