What is the current name of East Pakistan?

The current name of East Pakistan is Bangladesh. East Pakistan was the eastern faction of Pakistan, which was created in 1947.

When British rule ended in India, the predominantly Muslim regions to the east and west of Hindu India were given sovereignty and were called East Pakistan and West Pakistan. Despite having the same religious beliefs, the two Pakistani wings differed in cultural, economic and geographic aspects. In 1971, East Pakistan seceded and clamored for self-governance and greater autonomy from West Pakistan. The country of Bangladesh was then established, on March 26, 1971. In February 1974, West Pakistan, later renamed Pakistan, formally acknowledged the independent state.
