The Wisconsin Department of Revenue website has a sales tax chart that shows state tax rates as well as county and stadium tax rates, according to the website in 2015. In most counties, people pay a total sales tax rate of 5.5 percent.
The tax rate chart also shows the date a county tax rate went into effect, according to the Wisconsin Department of Revenue. Businesses in Wisconsin counties must collect, report and pay sales tax on goods such as clothing, recreational supplies, computers and landscaping services. Exemptions include notary public fees, snow removal, storage fees, parking tickets and charges for lessons.
