A curtain tension rod is a tool that can be used to hang either lightweight window curtains or shower curtains in locations where space is limited. A curtain tension rod generally requires minimal assembly and tools to install and holds up weight by creating tension between itself and a wall.

A curtain tension rod cannot hold very heavy drapes and is typically constructed using either two pieces of metal or plastic as well as a metal coil that keeps both pieces pushed against each other. Aside from hanging curtains, a curtain tension rod can also be used inside built-in closets or small closets.
