How dangerous is the thigh liposuction procedure?

Liposuction performed to the thighs and other areas of the body by an experienced doctor in a properly equipped facility is usually safe, explains WebMD. However, treating multiple or large areas may increase the risk of complications during or after the procedure.
Possible complications - though rare- include excessive blood and fluid loss, fat clots or blood clots, build-up of fluid in the lungs, infection and toxic reaction to the injected solution, explains WebMD.
Common side effects include temporary swelling, bruising, soreness, and numbness in and around the treated areas; irritation and minor scarring where the tubes were inserted; and baggy or rippling skin. Less common side effects include permanent skin-color changes, uneven skin surface, and damage to the nerves and skin, reports WebMD.
