The DBQ Project is an initiative that provides support for teachers in the United States to help them teach students to use comprehensive reading, clear writing and straight thinking. The project was started in 2000 and was based on prior experience with document-based question exercises.
The DBQ Project is initiated at the school district level to improve and develop skill sets across multiple content and grade areas. The project provides teachers with teaching material that combines historical inquiry and educational best practices. As of 2014, school districts that participate in the DBQ Project are largely in California, New Jersey and Florida.
