Medicare Part A deductibles and premiums change each year, according to Medicare.com. New rates are published in October or November each year and apply to the coming year.
Medicare Part A covers hospital, skilled nursing facilities and home health care services. In 2015, the Medicare Part A deductible is $1,260 for every 60-day period. No hospital coinsurance is paid for the first 60 days of a hospital stay, but coinsurance then increases as the stay increases, explains Medicare.com. Similarly, no skilled nursing facility coinsurance is due for 20 days, after which, the amounts due increase based on time spent in the facility.
