A degree is an academic award given upon completion of an educational program, a plane angle measurement representing 1/360 of a circle, or a measurement of temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit. A degree can also refer to the intensity of an event.
An academic degree, most commonly an associate, a bachelor's or a master's, requires that a student completes a specific course of study in a focused field as well as a breadth of faculties. A degree of arc measures one element of a full rotation and is equivalent to pi/180 radians. In physics, a degree of temperature measures the change in temperature. A degree of intensity is an adjectival phrase that describes the level to which something happens.
