Have any dentists reviewed Waterpik?

Dentists at Dental Care Matters and Park Ridge, DDS, reviewed the Waterpik Water Flosser. Dr. Barry Hughes of Dental Care Matters gave the product four stars out of five and said that the Waterpik Water Flosser is "a great product in certain circumstances."

Dr. Barry Hughes stated that a Waterpik Water Flosser is easier to maneuver than floss, is effective at cleaning orthodontic appliances and seems more effective than floss at targeting large gaps due to gum problems. He also suggested that many patients do not floss and would benefit from the device. Park Ridge, DDS, suggests that while the Waterpik Water Flosser is effective as a supplementary dental hygiene tool, it is not a replacement for traditional flossing because the device's pressure is inadequate for proper cleaning.
