What is DHL spam?

DHL spam consists of fraudulent e-mails and SMS messages claiming to be legitimate communications from DHL regarding a package delivery. When the recipient opens the e-mail attachment, it infects the PC or phone used to open it with malware.

DHL disavows any connection with these e-mails and text messages, and recommends that customers do not open them or download any attachments from them. They do not send e-mails or SMS messages including attachments to customers informing them that a package is en route. Any communication from DHL regarding a package contains a tracking number in the body of the e-mail.
