Anne Frank is famous because of her published diary that chronicled her time hiding from Nazi Germany persecution during the Holocaust. Despite being young at the time of its writing, the diary provides clear insight into the challenges she and her family faced.
Frank was born to Jewish parents in 1929, just years before the Nazis rose to power. In 1942, the Frank family was forced into hiding from the Nazis, but were later found and taken to concentration camps in 1944. The family was split up, with Frank and her sister taken to a different camp in 1945. Frank died at the age of 15, just a few months before the end of the war.
