Astrologer and columnist Sydney Omarr died on Jan. 2, 2003 in Santa Monica, California, according to the New York Times. He was 76 years old.
Born Sidney Kimmelman, Omarr rose to fame as an astronomer to the stars. His daily astrological column appeared in more than 200 newspapers, and he was a frequent guest on talk shows, including "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson." His death from a heart attack followed years of declining health caused by multiple sclerosis, which deprived him of his sight and paralyzed him from the neck down. His grave is located in Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
