Johannes Kepler died in Regensburg, Germany on November 15, 1630, after a short battle with an illness, most likely a fever. His death occurred while he was on his way home to Sagan, Germany to collect a debt.
Johannes Kepler was a German astronomer and was 59 years old at the time of his death. He died having no possessions or property of real worth. Only two of his 12 children survived to reach maturity.
Several years after his death, Kepler's grave was destroyed in the Thirty Years War. Published in 1621, Johannes Kepler's most influential work is "Epitome Astronomiae."
