When did Leif Eriksson die?

The death of Leif Erikson is assumed to have happened in Greenland in 1020. Erikson was a Norse explorer and supposedly the first explorer to have discovered North America when he landed in what is now Canada.

The details of his death and the location of his body are not known. Erikson reportedly came from a line of explorers and had multiple sons outside of wedlock. He founded the first European settlement in what later became Greenland. The exploration that landed in North America settled at Vinland, but Erikson only stayed for a single winter and did not establish a permanent colony.
