When did Lillian Jackson Braun die?

Lillian Jackson Braun died of a lung infection while in hospice care on June 7, 2011. Braun, who had been writing and publishing books since the 1960s, was 97 years old at the time of her death.

Braun's most famous works are the "Cat Who..." series, a collection of mystery novels featuring a former newspaper reporter, James Qwilleran, and his two pet Siamese cats. Qwilleran becomes embroiled in a series of plots and mysteries in and around his small town, which he often solves with the assistance of his cats that have a knack for accidentally unearthing important clues while playing.
