As a teenager, Michael Faraday was an apprentice to a bookbinder. In his adult years, Faraday was employed by the Royal Institution in Great Britain. Faraday began as a laboratory assistant in 1813 and ended his career as the Superintendent of the House and Laboratory in 1867.
During his career, Faraday made great advances in electrical technology. Faraday is best known for discovering electromagnetic rotations, electromagnetic induction and benzene. Faraday also played a significant role in coining the terms "diamagnetism," "ion," "cathode" and "electrode."
