Race car owner and driver Ray Evernham divorced his former wife of 19 years, Mary. While still married to Mary, Ray started an at-work relationship with his employee, race-car driver Erin Crocker. After Ray divorced Mary, he wed Erin Croker in August 2009.

The extra-marital affair that Ray Evernham conducted with Erin Crocker had lasting effects on the business environment. Evernham terminated employee Jeremy Mayfield due to poor performance. Mayfield maintained that his poor performance was a direct result of the decreasing standards of euipment managment that transpired during Evernham and Crocker's illicit affair.

Ray Evernham has one son with his ex-wife Mary.
