Where did Robert Hooke work?

Robert Hooke worked at the Royal Society in England. He was an English physicist. He invented the air pump when he worked as an assistant for the famous chemist Robert Boyle. He propounded the law of elasticity, which is now known as Hooke’s Law.

In 1662, Robert Hooke was appointed the curator of the Royal Society of London. Later, he became professor of geometry at Gresham College in London and died there in 1703.

Robert Hooke invented the universal joint and contributed to the theory of evolution. He also invented a refracting telescope to study celestial objects such as Jupiter. He studied cells and their functions. The coining of the word “cell” is credited to him.
