The Toyota Tacoma entered production in 1995 in the United States and is part of the seventh generation of Toyota trucks. The Tacoma's design is similar to the Toyota Hilux that the company sells outside the United States, and the truck is available in three different engine configurations.
Toyota produced the first generation of Tacoma trucks between 1995 and 2004. The initial models offered options of either a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine, or a 3.4-liter V6 engine. Toyota introduced second generation of the Toyota Tacoma at the 2004 Chicago Auto Show, and the third generation debuted in 2015.
