Where did World War II mainly take place?

World War II mainly took place in Europe and in the islands of the Pacific Ocean. The battles in Europe consisted of areas of France, Italy, Germany, Austria and Holland. The battles in the Pacific occurred in places such as Hawaii, Midway, Iwo Jima and the Philippines.

World War II also included battles in North Africa, bombings of England and a mass invasion into the Soviet Union by Germany. Other areas affected by the war included China, the Ukraine and the Japanese mainland.

Major cities that suffered damage during the war included London, England; Okinawa and Nagasaki, Japan; Berlin, Germany; and Leningrad in the Soviet Union.
