What is the difference between VGA and SVGA?

The terms VGA and SVGA, also known as video graphics array and super video graphics array, refer to the maximum video quality that can be viewed from a selected sourced and SVGA offers a better quality picture as opposed to VGA. The picture quality of an SVGA screen as opposed to a VGA screen is miniscule and is sometimes overlooked by its users.

The picture quality of a standard VGA output is rated at 640 x 480 pixels while SVGA manages 800 x 600 pixels. SVGA was released in 1987, the same year VGA was released by IBM. Due to the minor differences of each video output, the SVGA was never properly introduced as a level of higher resolution.
