In tachycardia heart rhythm, the heart beats too fast, such as over 100 beats per minute, says Healthline. A normal heart rate should be between 60 and 100 beats in a resting adult, notes Mayo Clinic.

Atrial fibrillation is an abnormal contraction of the upper chambers of the heart, causing irregular heart rhythm, reports WebMD. Atrial flutter typically occurs in people with heart disease, but the heart rhythm is more regular than in atrial fibrillation.
