What are some different types of sprinkler covers?

Pop-up sprinkler covers are the most common residential sprinkler heads, which supply a continuous stream of water through a fitted nozzle. The nozzle determines the spraying pattern. Pop-up sprinkler heads are subdivided into stationary sprays and rotating heads.

Pop-up sprinkler heads range in height between 2 and 20 inches and cover a radius between 3 and 15 feet. Impact rotors supply single or multiple streams of water in an arc pattern. They cover a 20- to 150-foot radius. Impact rotors are made of brass and bronze.

Gear-driven rotors are the most common for medium- and large-scale sprinkler systems. They operate at lower costs and require less maintenance as compared to other sprinkler covers.
