It's possible to reload a prepaid MoneyPak card at the cash register of such stores as Walmart, Walgreens, Rite Aid, 7-Eleven, Dollar General and other stores. After swiping the card, the cardholder either cashes a check or provides cash to add to the card, notes MoneyPak.

As of 2015, the process costs a $4.95 reload fee at the cash register, according to MoneyPak, a service of Green Dot Corp. In some cases, the store allows the user to cash a check and then use that cash to replenish the card balance. While no new MoneyPak cards are available for sale, the reload process continues, according to MoneyPak.
