Discrete bundles of muscles cells are known as muscle fascicles. They are bundled together and connected by a connective tissue sheath known as the perimysium.
Muscles have three connective tissue coverings that allow them to move in sync with each other. Individual muscle cells are wrapped in a connective tissue sheath known as the endomysium. The individual muscle cells bind together and form fascicles, which are then wrapped in a connective tissue covering known as the perimysium. All of the muscle fascicles are then brought together and wrapped in a connective tissue covering known as the epimysium. The three distinct muscle layers increase blood flow and nutrient availability.
