The overland boundaries dividing Europe and Asia are the Bosphorus, the Dardanelles, the Caucasus and the Urals. The water boundaries include the Aegean Sea, the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea and the Ural River. The divide is also known as the Eurasian boundary.
The southeast boundary of Europe and Asia is disputed as either the Kuma-Manych Depression, the Don River or the Caucasus Mountains. The Bosporus is a straight that connects the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara, while the Dardanelles is a straight that connects the Aegean Sea to the Sea of Marmara. The Urals is a mountain range that runs through western Russia from the Arctic Ocean to the Ural River.
