There are some circumstances where doctors undergo performance reviews, but it may not happen at all medical service providers or hospitals, according to Harvard Business Review. An example of doctors who undergo performance reviews would be those at the Cleveland Clinic.
The Cleveland Clinic hires all of its doctors on contracts that renew on an annual basis, states Harvard Business Review. A part of the contract includes annual performance reviews. The doctors see these reviews as an opportunity to communicate with hospital leadership and receive feedback. This has lead to an increase in patient volume and improved quality of care.
