During what years did the TV show "Route 66" run?

"Route 66" aired from October 7, 1960, to March 20, 1964, on CBS. The show was created by Herbert B. Leonard and Stirling Silliphant and was a spin-off of their ABC show, "Naked City."

"Route 66" aired 116 episodes over the course of its four-year run. The show starred Martin Milner and George Maharis for the first three years, at which point Maharis was replace by Glenn Corbert. Inspired by Jack Kerouac's novel "On the Road," the series was dubbed a "semi-anthology," with weekly guest stars providing the storylines for the show. A sequel to "Route 66" aired on NBC in 1993, but was canceled after only four episodes due to low ratings.
