Does earlier discovery help the survival rate of brain cancer?

Early detection is potentially beneficial for the brain cancer survival rate. However, the prognosis for brain cancer patients depends more on other factors, such as the type of tumor, its location in the brain and the patient's age, according to the American Cancer Society.
Brain tumors are usually found when a patient seeks out a doctor for specific symptoms because there are no widely used tests to screen for brain cancer as of 2015. This can make early detection difficult. However, if an individual has certain conditions that increase the risk for brain tumors, doctors recommend regular exams that might help detect a tumor during its early stages.
