When was the Earth formed?

Scientists estimate that the Earth was created approximately 4.54 billion years ago, which is less than 100 million years after the formation of the solar system. It is thought that the planet was created as a result of more than 10 different collisions between various celestial bodies.

When the solar system was first formed, gravity slowly collected various clouds of dust and gas to form asteroids and miniature planets known as planetesimals. Over time, these different bodies collided with each other to shape the Earth and the various other planets in the solar system. It is also thought that these same processes were responsible for the formation of the sun as well.
