Do earwigs bite?

The insects are typically drawn to decayed plant and animal matter, but certain species may also feed off of live plants and fruits such as strawberries and grapes. Earwigs seek shelter in dark, damp areas and can often be found in garbage cans, outdoor wood piles and mulch bins.
