Do East Coast people watch the sunrise like West Coast people watch the sunset?

While East Coast people do watch the sunrise, and West Coast people do watch the sunset, they likely do not go about watching it in the same manner. The drastic difference in time in which the events occur prevents individuals on the two opposing coasts from having similar experiences.

Because the sun rises anywhere from approximately 5-7 a.m. on the East Coast, it stands that it takes extra planning and effort to change the average person's sleep schedule to be able to watch the sun as it rises. Alternatively, individuals on the West Coast can easily view the sun as it sets during normal waking hours, in the late afternoon and in a relaxed social setting.
