What eats jellyfish?

Creatures that eat jellyfish include tuna, sharks and sea turtles such as the leatherback and the hawksbill. These animals eat jellyfish despite their prey's stinging tentacles. Jellyfish also eat each other.

Leatherbacks are the largest turtles on Earth, and they can weigh close to a ton. They spend most of their lives in the water pursuing prey such as jellyfish. The smaller hawksbill sea turtle also eats jellyfish in addition to its main diet of sponges.

The ocean sunfish or mola also eats jellyfish. Because this fish is enormous and jellyfish don't provide much nutrition, the fish must eat a large number of them. The huge lion's mane jellyfish is an example of a jellyfish that consumes other jellies.
