What is Eco-Complete?

Eco-Complete is a substrate manufactured by CaribSea. It is intended to be placed in the bottom of a freshwater aquarium to support the growth of aquatic plants.

Eco-Complete is made out of basaltic volcanic soil. It has highly porous spherical grains. The substrate is rich in minerals to support the growth of plants and is supplemented with live bacteria to help break down fish waste into a form the plants can easily absorb and use for nutrition. Using Eco-Complete reduces cycling time in new aquariums. Eco-Complete comes in regular size grains in black or red and comes in fine grains in black only.
