What is a plot plan?

Plot plans are architecture or landscape plan drawings that show buildings, utility runs and equipment layout of an area, as well as the position of roads and other constructions of a project site drawn to scale. Plot plans are also known as site plans or mortgage inspections plans and are usually drawn in a top down perspective.

Plot plans are drawn up by surveyors, architects, engineers or homeowners as a step towards adding additions to existing architecture and landscapes or building new architecture in already developed areas. Plot or site plans are invaluable to avoiding mistakes during builds and determining a property's legal descriptions.
